Trip to the East with Grandma

Here are Jeremy and Brian, we were at a gas station in Utah. Just heading east for our big trip. This must have been in 1995. I know Pear was a puppy. Bill had to work and he stayed home with our new dog.
This is a picture of my Aunt Toni, my mom and My Aunt Maryanne. This was on Aunt Maryanne's swing in her back yard in Pennsylvania. I remember that we visited with Aunt Marianne for several days and they even had a big picnic for us. It was fun and the food was very good. This was the last time my mother saw my Aunt Maryanne or her husband Uncle Bud. They died just a few years later. I am so glad that we took the trip so my mom could see her beloved big sister.
This is a picture of the house that my dad built for my mom. This is the house we lived in when I was born. It is on Williamsport Road in Elizabeth, PA. I lived there until I was 4.
This is Abraham Lincoln's house in Springfield, IL. http://www.nps.gov/liho/ It was a very interesting place. We enjoyed the tour. Some things I remember is that Abe had a very big and long bed and his wife Mary had a separate bed that was wide they were in adjoining rooms! http://showcase.netins.net/web/creative/lincoln/gallery/pict.htm Also the outhouse had 3 seats.
Here we are at Mt. Rushmore. This is in the gift shop they are standing in front of a small statue.
Here is the real deal. It is pretty amazing and impressive!
This was taken after we returned home. My dad gave the boys this horn - quite a treasure!!
It was a nice trip. I was the navigator and primary driver. We visited relatives and my friend Michele in Kansas too. The boys drew pictures of each day's adventure and they made a journal to go with the pictures.
