Grandpa and Grammy's 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

December 1988Here we are on our flight to Oklahoma. Many of our friends and family know the funny story of this memorable flight. It is not easy to fly with a 2 month old and and 18 month old. Bill was recovering from a "procedure" and it was quite an eventful trip.
Here is Jeremy with his Great Grandpa Pate. Grandpa pate was great with Jeremy. He called him "Red on the Top"! I remember Jeremy being fussy and Grandpa said, "Boy, you get up on that couch and go to sleep." And Jeremy did!! Wow it was utterly amazing to me.

Here they are with Grandpa and Grammy. It was a happy time of celebration. 50 years together is an amazing thing to accomplish.

This was a fun trip. I enjoyed visiting all of Bill's family. It was cold and snowy in Oklahoma. We did venture out an buy some things. I remember this is where we bought the huge Christmas Stockings that we had for Jeremy and Brian. I also remembering how different the people down south were. They were relaxed and in no hurry. Growing up in southern California and then living in Las Vegas I was used to stressed out people in a hurry. The people in Oklahoma were very kind and nice to us even at the grocery store. It was strange but in a nice way.

Birthday Lunches with My Friends

In the early 1990's some of my friends and I would celebrate our birthdays together by going out to lunch as a group. Here I am with Clara, Ruby, Jan, Norma and Karen (the birthday girl!).

Jeremy's First Haircut

Here is Grandma Modena giving Jeremy his first haircut. He did very well. He had lots of beautiful red hair.

Brian has Arrived

Here is Brian and he is brand spanking new. No we would never spank him - yet!

Jeremy was a good big brother. He still is! We were happy that Brian finally came. He was such a mellow baby. The easiest birth of all of mine and the easiest baby. He was content to just be here. Feed me and love me was all he really needed.

Mount Charleston October 1988

We decided to take a drive to Mt. Charleston in October of 1988 to get my labor started. I was very pregnant with Brian. I had heard that going up into a mountian may start labor. The higher elevation was supposed to help. Mt. Charleston is about 9000 ft. It is about a 40 minute drive from Las Vegas.
Jeremy enjoyed the trip. He was 16 months old at the time.

Well, poor baby he fell down. We felt so bad for him. He was just pitiful.
Dad made it all better and he was fine. Well the little trip didn't help me have Brian any quicker but we did have a nice time away from the city and up in the beautiful mountains.
